84 Days, 84 Works
这个奇妙的展览每天都在不断变化。所有人——包括艺术家（卢征远）、策展人或者我们——都无法确切地知道展览每天会带来什么样的惊喜，最后呈现出什么样子。本展，包括它的最后期限、制作、创造性和不可预测性，都是对一个纯粹的中国新兴艺术家聪明才智的测试。
变化，是人最基本的生存体验。这84件作品就像是在UCCA里生长出来一般。让我们一起来见证艺术的发生。

The fantastic exhibition is evolving every day. All the people – including the artist (Lu Zhengyuan), the curator or us – don’t exactly know what surprise the exhibition will bring every day and what it will be like at last. The exhibition, including its deadline, production, creativity and indeterminism, is a pure test to the intelligence and wisdom of a rising Chinese artist.
Evolution is the fundamental survival experience of human beings. The 84 works seem to have grown in UCCA. Let’s witness the occurrence of art together.

Video Condensed time by taking a video of a slow over-the-shoulder smile (originally 2 min 41 sec) and compressing it down to “normal” speed (compressed 50x, to 3 sec).

2010年10月30日23点55分，因为网络问题，当日作品没能及时登出。 2010年10月31日0点过后，尽管想通过更改电脑日期设置回到昨天，却无能为力。 我把所能更改时间，比如钟表，手机，电脑的时间全都提前8分15秒。 October 30, 2010, 11:55 pm: Unable to upload any art to my blog due to internet issues. October 31, 2010, after 12:00 am: As much as I wish I could go back to yesterday simply by resetting the clock on my computer, it’s just not going to happen. Still, I set everything back by 8 hours, 15 minutes; that includes clocks, mobile phone and computer.

附记：偶遇一块恰巧我可以勉强搬动的石头，记下遇见的时间，把它搬回工作室，决定只有靠我徒手搬动才可以移动这个作品，展览的地点因此也只能在我能搬动它走到的距离。
Supplemental Notes: Happened upon a rock that was just large enough that I could barely carry it. Recorded the time on the stone, then carried it to my workshop. Decided that this work would go nowhere that I could not carry it with my own hands. If this work is to be exhibited, it must be within the distance I am able to carry the stone unassisted.

I took a self-portrait and rolled it down the stairs- the high set of stairs that faces my workshop. Along the way, I thought of two artists who had influenced me: Michelangelo ("Beauty is the purgation of superfluities") and Duchamps (Nude Descending a Staircase).

An enthusiastic guest at the gallery supplied today’s work of art. ‘An object of any shape, or anything at all, can be a work of art, as long as it exists for some period of time. In this case, it has gorgeous colors, and is quite small, which makes it especially cute.’

Sprayed a trail of gasonline on the ground, then lit it and raced the flames. Supplemental Notes: Gasoline is the motive power that carries me to far away places, and allows me to shuttle back and forth across the vast city that is Beijing. But somehow, I find it hard to believe.

I named a extremely high price for my works, which was accepted by exhibition organizers UCCA. (Due to the hard work and cooperation of many parties, UCCA has at last purchased all of the works created for '84 Days, 84 Works.')

Supplemental Notes: Urinated in an airplane bathroom. After flushing, my urine was scattered through the atmosphere, becoming small bits of the blue sky. (As I recall, airline toilet waste is directly jettisoned, to be atomized by the powerful airstream around the plane.)

把一个乒乓球藏在家里很隐蔽的地方，拍摄让陌生的人来寻找的过程。 附记：家是一个很奇妙的地方，尤其是住得久了就已经变成你的一部分，但就像你不了解自己一样，有时会感觉陌生。用乒乓球来引导一条寻宝的线路，同时也引入了多余的导游。
Took a ping-pong ball and hid it deep within my house, then shot footage of a stranger in the process of searching for the ball. Supplemental Notes: A home is a miraculous place. Especially once you’ve lived in it so long that it seems a part of you. Yet in the same way that we don’t understand ourselves, our homes become unfamiliar at times. The ping-pong ball serves to mark the course of a treasure hunt across my home, and draws a complete stranger into the role of being my superfluous tour guide.

无影像记录，只有一张点满点的A4纸 用自己的感觉把握时间，感觉过了一秒就在一张白纸上点一个点，直到3600点（一小时），而实际时间是过34分钟。 附记：我总是有很差的时间观念，常常迟到，时间总是让我抓不住它。而每天一件作品的事情让我好像能听到每一秒溜走的声音，可能是到了我和时间决斗的时候了。我躲在房间里，看了最后一眼时间，之后就在一张白纸上点着点，很认真的记录着我感受到的每一秒时间，直到我点到3600点，最后，比钟表上的提前了1560秒。
No photographic/video record. One sheet of A4 sized paper covered in dots. Following my own sense of time, made a dot on a piece of paper for each second I felt had passed. Made 3,600 dots in total. One hour by my reckoning, but only 34 minutes in reality. Supplemental Notes: I’ve always had a very poor sense of time. I’m constantly late, and never seem to be able to get a hold on the moment. Completing one work of art every day makes it so I can almost hear the sound of each second slipping away. Perhaps this has brought me to the decisive bout in my struggle with time. I hid in my room, and took one last look at the clock, then assiduously applied myself to feeling every second, down to the 3600th dot. In the end, I arrived 1560 seconds before the clock

拍摄天空，在一定的光圈快门下用严格的时间计（每5分钟拍一张）得到一组顺时的景象，再重组顺序，得到有时间的天空“差值图像”。
Took pictures of the sky at regular intervals (every 5 min.) with predetermined shutter speeds and aperture settings. Results: a chronological sequence of images which were then placed in a spatial sequence, creating a time-based 'difference image' of the sky.

I'm telling everyone I run into today to shout out, 'Ah!' at 9 pm this evening. Whatever we are doing, we will break the normal sequence of our activities, and imagine that this sound, simultaneously heard in different spaces, will form a shared psychological space. (This may touch upon certain issues of concerning beliefs, time differences and the speed of sound.) I also hope those reading the blog will participate : ) No physical record.

Drove west down a road, hoping to leave time behind, and delay the onset of 2011 by a little. Additional Notes: The first decade of the new millennium went by too quickly. In the first moment of the soon to be welcomed 2011, I made use of that small time difference that can be gained by movement through space, in hopes of delaying 2011's arrival in my life.
