The artist used realistic methods to paint non realistic things, making them very realistic, but intentionally deviated from the requirements of traditional realistic painting aesthetics, separating the seemingly natural relationship between realistic techniques and realism. Using the same realistic methods, he accurately replicated many randomly formed pigment blocks in larger sizes, turning the free brushstrokes in formalist painting aesthetics into the content of realistic painting.
